BERGEN COUNTY TO INSTALL SECURE BALLOT DROP BOX IN FORT LEE

COUNTY TO INSTALL SECURE BALLOT DROP BOX IN FORT LEE

FORT LEE —- TODAY – Friday, June 19, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., a secure ballot drop box will be installed by the County of Bergen at the Fort Lee Community Center, 1355 Inwood Terrace, for area residents to place their voted mail-in-ballots for the July 7 Primary Election. An alternative to mailing their ballots at local post offices, the drop boxes were paid for by the State of New Jersey. Ballots will be picked up regularly, brought to the County Board of Elections offices in Hackensack to be time-stamped and processed, all in advance of counting that begins on July 7.  The last pick-up will be at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7. Voters may still mail their ballots at the post office. County buildings remain closed to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions, preventing hand-delivery of ballots directly to the Board of Elections.

In attendance on Friday will be Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich and Board of Elections Commissioner Richard L. Miller.
