Bergen County Republican Women’s Club

Proudly Announces Their New Leader

Founded in 1923, the Bergen County Women’s Republican Club (BCWRC) is a charter of the NJ Federation of Republican Women, and the National Federation of Republican Women, the oldest United States women’s political organization.

On January 13, 2020, the BCWRC will be installing their 2020 Officers.  The new President is Dr. Dierdre G. Paul, the first African American woman to lead the club in its 97-year history.

Dierdre’s career started as a New York City public school teacher. She earned her doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is a full professor at Montclair State University and has authored five books.

Dierdre is the proud mom of 2 adult children, raised as a divorced, single mother. She serves as lector and extraordinary minister at St. Cecilia’s Church in Englewood, NJ.

Dierdre changed her Party affiliation to Republican in March 2013 and has never regretted the decision. She has been an active member of the Bergen County Republican Organization, ran for LD-37 Assembly (2013), Congressional District 9 (2014), and Englewood Mayor (2019).

Dierdre was elected as 2018-2020 Assistant Recording Secretary for BCWRC and 2019-2021 Treasurer for the NJ Federation of Republican Women.

The BCWRC welcome Dierdre Paul as its New President!
