BERGEN DEMOCRATS TARGET VICTORY FOR NORTH ARLINGTON
News for Immediate release:
A packed-house gathered at the La Venere Ristorante here in North Arlington Monday evening as Bergen County Democratic Committee Chair Paul Juliano rallied the locals and pledged support to council hopefuls John Balwierczak and John Yampaglia.
The theme for North Arlington Democrats was “bring back blue,” as locals have not served on the governing body since 2019 and have not won a municipal race since 2016.
But changing demographics and a plethora of issues such as overdevelopment, density and traffic plague the GOP incumbents, and locals believe 2024 will be a breakout win.
In addition to Chairman Paul Juliano, Bergen County Commissioner Steve Tanelli, who hails from North Arlington and will be seeking a fifth three-year term called upon those in attendance to bring responsible, two-party government back to the South Bergen community of some 17,000 residents.
Balwierczak, a former Republican and Yampaglia, a small business owner and former planning board member also received the endorsements of former NA mayors Peter Massa and Ed Martone, as well as former council members Robert Myers, Patrick Roche, Tom Zammatore, Al Granell and Mark Yampaglia, the brother of the candidate.
In addition, the ticket was endorsed by Dr. Michael Russo, the longest serving council member in the history of Hoboken, where he has served since 2003 as the 3rd Ward member.
Both candidates thanked Chairman Juliano and Commissioner Tanelli for their support and looked forward to working with them in producing winning margins up and down the ballot.
“We are humbled and grateful by Chairman Juliano as well as Commissioner Tanelli for unifying our party and bringing North Arlington Democrats back on the right path and that’s the road to victory. We have already canvassed the entire community once and secured over 300 signatures to secure our ballot status on the June Primary ballot, more than any municipal candidate in either party here in Bergen County. Our message is simple, to remain the gateway to Bergen County and to keep NA small, safe and suburban,”
