BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP AWARDS CONTRACT FOR KIDSTREET PLAYGROUND REPAIRS

$166,000 Funded To Project Through Local Recreation Improvement Grant and Open Space Trust

Bridgewater, NJ – Bridgewater Township has announced the award of a contract to TC Landscape Construction Group Incorporated for the rehabilitation of KidStreet playground. The project, funded through the Local Recreation Improvement Grant with match from the Bridgewater Open Space Fund, totals $166,00.00 for park repairs and restoration.

“The KidStreet playground holds a special place in the hearts of our community members,” said Mayor Matthew Moench. “Families travel from across Somerset County to visit this amazing park and spend time in Bridgewater. We are thrilled to revitalize this beloved space while keeping its unique character in order to ensure that it remains a jewel of Bridgewater’s recreational spaces.”

The renovation efforts will focus on addressing broken accessories, replacing seats and backboards, upgrading safety measures, and enhancing the overall aesthetics of KidStreet.

“KidStreet playground has been an exceptional playground since it opened in 1995, serving multiple generations of children and their families,” Michael Kirsh, Bridgewater Council President, explained. “Its diverse equipment fosters physical activity, imaginative play, and social interaction for children of all ages and abilities. We are excited to provide the funding to ensure that KidStreet remains an amazing experience for our youngest residents and visitors for many more years.”

The project is scheduled to commence in the early Fall after pre-construction meetings have been completed, with project completion expected within two months, weather permitting. During the construction phase, every effort will be made to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area while ensuring the safety of park visitors and construction personnel. Additionally, the Township will provide the public with updates as construction proceeds.

Bridgewater Township would like to express its gratitude to all residents for their patience and understanding during the renovation process. The township remains committed to providing exceptional recreational facilities that promote a healthy and vibrant community.
