As the Mayor and Council of Bloomingdale, we come together today to express our unanimous endorsement of Chief Thomas Adamo for the position of Passaic County Sheriff. Chief Adamo’s tenure at the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office is exemplary. With almost three decades of dedicated service, his career through the ranks—from corrections to law enforcement and ultimately to Chief of the Law Enforcement Division—has prepared him well for the challenges and responsibilities of the Sheriff’s role. His leadership during departmental and community trials, particularly in the wake of the tragic loss of Sheriff Berdnik, has provided a sense of stability and strength.

Chief Adamo’s work in all divisions of the Sheriff’s Office, especially his time as Captain of the Special Investigations Division, showcases his unwavering commitment to honesty, transparency, and accountability. His efforts to maintain the department’s integrity by investigating complaints against its officers have been crucial in building trust within the community.
