BlueWaveNJ endorses Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle for State Senate
BlueWaveNJ endorses Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle for State Senate in New
Jersey’s 37th Legislative District.
Senate Majority Leader Weinberg recently announced her retirement and while she will be
greatly missed by BlueWaveNJ and New Jersey’s progressive community, there is no better
way to honor and continue the Senator’s legacy than elect Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri
Huttle as her successor.
Assemblywoman Huttle has long been a champion for the LGBTQ community, women, and
working families. She supported pay equity, earned sick leave and paid family leave legislation,
and is a strong advocate for people with disabilities and those living with mental health issues.
Huttle has been a leader in the fight for women’s equality. She authored and helped secure
passage of the New Jersey Human Trafficking Prevention, Protection, and Treatment Act and
recently introduced a package of protection against sexual assault. With the recent ideological
shift in the Supreme Court, Assemblywoman Huttle and Senator Weinberg introduced the
Reproductive Freedom Act, which will guarantee that all New Jersey women, regardless of
income and immigration status, have access to the full spectrum of reproductive health care.
BlueWaveNJ is proud to endorse such a forceful civil rights and social justice advocate for New
Jersey’s State Senate.
