Booker Statement on Comey Testimony
Booker Statement on Comey Testimony
Washington, DC – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement in response to today’s testimony by former FBI Director James Comey in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee:
“Under oath, the former Director of the FBI presented a foundation for obstruction of justice charges against the President of the United States. His testimony was profoundly consequential, and we must continue to relentlessly seek the truth in this instance and the broader Russia investigation.
“As Comey reiterated today, there’s no question that the Russians interfered in our election for their own advantage. They were sophisticated, they were targeted, and they will do it again if Congress does not take strong action. Should it be found that laws have been broken or the trust of the American people violated by members of Trump campaign, Trump Organization, or Trump Administration, those who have done wrong must be held to account. Today makes it as clear as ever that the work of justice must continue and that we must seek and find the truth.”
