Borough of Dunellen Amends Downtown Redevelopment Plan to Permit Craft Breweries, Craft Distilleries, Wine Salerooms, and Mead and Cider Establishments in All Redevelopment Areas 

 

Amendment to be Heard at Council Meeting on January 10, 2022 

 

It was announced today that the borough of Dunellen has amended the Downtown Dunellen Redevelopment Plan to permit craft breweries, craft distilleries, wine salerooms and mead and cider establishments in all redevelopment areas. The amendment will be heard at the Council meeting on January 10, 2022. The goal of the amendment is to attract new businesses to downtown Dunellen. DMR Architects the Borough’s Municipal Planner amended the Redevelopment Plan.

 

Dunellen Mayor Jason F. Cilento said: “As the borough of Dunellen continues to see the revitalization of our downtown and surrounding train station, it is important that we promote policies that attract popular businesses like breweries, micro-breweries and wineries. These types of businesses will further enhance Dunellen’s downtown experience. attract more people and, as a result, stimulate more economic development in the central business district. We are excited to welcome these new business categories.”

The Downtown Dunellen Redevelopment plan is the planning document that guides the redevelopment within the downtown area including but not limited to permitted uses, building height, architectural character of buildings and parking.
