Borough of Dunellen to Welcome Comcast as a Broadband Service Provider by 2026

Dunellen, NJ – May 29, 2024 – Mayor Jason F. Cilento and the Borough of Dunellen are excited to announce that Comcast has been approved to become a broadband provider in Dunellen following the adoption of Ordinance 2024-03, at the April 1, 2024 Council Meeting, and authorization from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. It is anticipated that Comcast will become available throughout the entire Borough of Dunellen by 2026.

“I am excited to welcome Comcast to our borough, and I look forward to their services becoming available throughout Dunellen. Giving our residents options to choose their service provider creates healthy competition between these companies, encouraging them to keep prices fair and increase the quality of the services they provide,” said Mayor Cilento.

Service to the borough will be delivered with fiber to the home that can provide high-speed internet access, digital video, video on demand, high-definition television, and Xfinity Voice. Comcast will join Optimum and Planet Network as the third provider for internet, television, and phone services in the Borough of Dunellen.

“We truly appreciate Mayor Cilento’s efforts in proposing this to the Dunellen Borough Council so we can work together for the benefit of our constituents,” said Council President Teresa Albertson.

Additionally, Comcast will be providing the Borough of Dunellen with two public access channels that will be utilized to broadcast Borough Council meetings, promote community events, and more.

“Comcast is excited to bring our advanced products and services to the residents and businesses in Dunellen. We are thrilled to continue our investments in the state, offering more choices to residents with fast, secure, and reliable Internet services that are built to meet the community’s needs today and into the future,” said Dan Bonelli, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Freedom Region, which serves New Jersey.
