Bramnick: Murphy’s invoice to taxpayers equals $4.4 billion

TRENTON, N.J. – On the heels of calling Gov. Phil Murphy’s tax and spend agenda “scary and extreme,” Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick says Murphy’s math is too much for taxpayers.

“Taxpayers are going to be charged with an invoice that they can’t afford over the next four years,” said Bramnick (R-Union). “They are not going to feel any better when they have to pay the bill.”

Murphy’s promised spending increases – including pensions, school funding, universal preschool and free community college – will cost over $1.2 billion this year, and over a billion dollars in the following three years.  At the end of his term spending on new programs will total nearly $4.4 billion.
