Brizzi is Back to Fight For Republican Values and An Affordable Community

(East Rutherford, NJ ) Former Borough Councilman Joel Brizzi is seeking the Republican nomination for council in the June 5 Primary Election.

Brizzi is a former seven term councilman who worked closely with Mayor James Cassella to keep borough taxes among the lowest in Bergen County and to improve and expand services for residents. He filed his candidate petition today and is seeking support from the Bergen County Republican Organization to run on the organization line.

I am running in the Primary for two main reasons; one is to give Republican voters the opportunity to support someone who truly represents their values, not someone who is pursuing political opportunities for himself,” said Brizzi.

“Secondly, I want to put East Rutherford back on the financially responsible track it was on for so many years.  Government spending is increasing locally and that — coupled with Gov. Murphy’s spending plans, puts all residents in financial jeopardy whether you own a home or not. I have the experience, the track record and the commitment to do what I promise I will do,” Joel Brizzi.

Brizzi noted that in his last three years he served on the council (2014-2016) there were tax reductions each year The year after he left the council, East Rutherford residents suffered the seventh largest tax increase in the entire state.

Brizzi has a long record of service to the community. As a councilman he served as chairman of both the Police and Public Works Committees. he was also a member of the borough planning board. Brizzi was also integral to creating the  free summer concert series and an avid supporter of borough recreation; he also was a sponsor of Little League and youth soccer teams.

His time on the council was also devoted to working with Mayor Cassella to transform the borough from its old industrial past to the new, cleaner retail economy of the present. He also worked with Cassella to generate millions in tax revenue for the borough from the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.

Brizzi has lived in the borough for 45 years and has been the owner of Bellaqua Inc. – a spring water and filtration company –  since 1989.  He and his wife Jamie and have two grown children.
