Budget Committees Seek Public Input on Governor’s Budget Proposal

Trenton – The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and the Assembly Budget Committee are offering the public the opportunity to provide input on Governor Phil Murphy’s budget proposal for the nine-month Fiscal Year 2021 spending plan that runs from October 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

The Governor offered his proposal yesterday for the COVID-shortened nine-month fiscal year. The timetable gives the Legislature five weeks to finalize the plan.

The Budget Committees are offering a two-week window for the submission of public testimony, from August 28 to September 11.

Those wanting to submit written testimony may do so through the State Legislature’s homepage at www.njleg.state.nj.us by clicking BUDGET PUBLIC TESTIMONY to send a copy via e-mail; or by mailing a copy to: Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and/or Assembly Budget Committee, C/O Legislative Budget and Finance Office, Office of Legislative Services, P.O. Box 068, Trenton NJ 08625-0068.

The testimony will be circulated to and reviewed by committee members and staff and made available to the public via the Legislature’s website. Please contact the Legislative Budget and Finance Office at 609-847-3105 with any questions or concerns.
