Book your Cell to be Wed on Halloween

 

County Clerk Joanne Schwartz will perform weddings at the Historic Prison Museum in Mount Holly on October 31st from the hours of 1pm until 7pm. The lucky couples may choose to hold the ceremony on the grand steps to the prison or in your very own cell. Couples can learn more about the museum by visiting the website https://www.prisonmuseum.net/

“Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so why not wed on a festive day,” said County Clerk Schwartz. “Forever more you will be able to celebrate your wedding anniversary on this wonderful fun fall holiday”.

Couples will be asked to make appointment in advance and arrive a prior to time to complete the necessary paperwork.

Ms. Schwartz will also perform Holiday Weddings at the Historic Smithville Mansion in Eastampton on December 13th from the hours of 1pm until 7pm.

Couples interested in getting married should contact Heather Cheesman at the office at (609) 265-5142 or email hcheesman@co.burlington.nj.us to schedule an appointment. County Clerk’s wedding events fill up quickly so please call to be sure an appointment is available. The couple will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of the parties resides. It takes 72 hours to obtain the license, so it cannot be left until the last minute.
