Burlington County Democratic Committee Officially Endorses

Carol Murphy for State Assembly in the 7th District

Mount Laurel – Tonight, the Burlington County Democratic Committee voted to endorse Carol Murphy for State Assembly in the 7th District.  The official endorsement awards the party line in the upcoming primary to Carol Murphy, a critical next step to securing the Democratic nomination.  The full state legislative slate in the 7th District will be Troy Singleton for State Senate, Herb Conaway and Carol Murphy for State Assembly.

“I’m humbled and honored tonight to receive the support of the Burlington County Democratic Committee.  I am so proud to run with Assemblymen Singleton and Conaway, they have been so supportive throughout the selection process and look forward to serving with them in Trenton fighting for Burlington County,” said Murphy.

Carol Murphy has been a tireless advocate throughout her career in public service and wants to bring that passion to make a difference here in Burlington County.  For nearly a decade, Carol worked to build and modernize public schools across New Jersey including many projects moving Burlington County classrooms into the 21st century.  During the past six years, working in the state legislature, Carol has stood on the front lines fighting for equal pay, raising the minimum wage, protecting women’s healthcare, reducing gun violence and funding our schools.  Against the odds, Carol worked with former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords to pass a law that restricts access to firearms of domestic violence abusers.

“Being elected to the State Assembly would be a tremendous privilege, and I promise to be accessible, honest, work hard to make you proud as your State Assemblywoman,” added Murphy.
