Burlington County Farmers Market In The Lead to Become No. 1 in New Jersey
Farmers Market Will Also Celebrate Peach Season This Saturday, Aug. 31, from 8:30 AM to 1 PM
MOORESTOWN – Burlington County’s most popular farmers market is also in the lead to be crowned New Jersey’s favorite as well.
With just a few days remaining in the voting, the Burlington County Farmers Market is the tops among New Jersey locations in this year’s America’s Farmers Market Celebration. It is also running 3rd among markets across the entire Northeast region.
The annual poll is sponsored by the American Farmland Trust. It offers both bragging rights and prizes to the top vote recipients in the nation, each region and each state.
“The Burlington County Farmers Market has grown to become a must-visit attraction for both county residents and visitors from across the state and region,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “The market’s popularity has helped it become an important resource for local farmers and small businesses of all of sorts. We’re proud of its success and that it’s being recognized across New Jersey and the region. There are still a few days of voting left, so show the market some love and help it finish No. 1.”

Here’s another reason Burlington County’s Farmers Market should be ranked number one in the region. This Saturday is a special peach-themed market day with several varieties of Jersey Fresh peaches for sale, along with scores of other peach products, including peach chutney, salsa, jams, teas, pies, cobblers, scones, ice cream and more!
The Peach Party at the Farmers Market will be held during the regular market hours of 8:30 AM to 1 PM this Saturday. In addition to the peachy goods for sale, the market will feature a peach-themed cooking demonstration, kids activity, peach basket giveaways and samples of peach ice cream and peach crumble while supplies last. The Flim Flam Band will also be performing throughout the day.
Peach Party is one of several theme days planned this summer, including the upcoming Tomato Day on Aug. 31 and For the Love of Squash Day on September 28.
“New Jersey is famous for its delicious peaches and other produce and there’s no better place to shop for fruits, vegetables and other great items than the Burlington County Farmers Market, which continues to grow in popularity,” said Burlington County Commissioner Allison Eckel, the liaison to the County Department of Resource Conservation and Parks. “This Saturday’s Peach Party is a great day for market regulars and newcomers to shop, sample and enjoy the food, crafts and entertainment at our Agricultural Center.”
Now in its 18th season, the Burlington County Farmers Market is held rain or shine on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 1 PM at the Burlington County Agricultural Center, 500 Centerton Road, Moorestown. This year’s season began in May and runs through Nov. 23, plus a special holiday market on Dec. 7.
This year also featured several preseason market days during the months of March and April.
