Burlington County holding additional small business workshops, networking event

MOUNT HOLLY – Burlington County is continuing its small business workshops series with three upcoming sessions focused on helping owners access capital and target new customers.

A business networking event is also being organized to help local business owners to connect and share information and ideas.

The events are free and offered as a service to businesses operating in the county and to residents thinking about starting a new business. Advance registration is required.

“Burlington County’s reputation as a business-friendly location is growing as we continue to help small businesses launch, grow and find success here,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “These small business workshops are a reflection of that commitment and we’re proud to partner with the Burlington County Bridge Commission and the County Department of Economic Development to provide this service.”

The next workshop will be held Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, and will be a virtual conference devoted to assessing a company’s financial status and future financial needs. An in-person small business workshop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 10 AM to noon at the Edgewater Park Municipal Building, 400 Delanco Road. It will be focused on how to perform a market analysis and the strategic use of that analysis. In addition to those seminars, the Bridge Commission and Department of Economic Development will host a special Burlington County Business to Business Social on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Ark Brewery, Restaurant & Pub, 106 Ark Road in Lumberton. The event will provide Burlington County business owners an opportunity to meet and network with fellow business leaders and employees, as well as government officials, including staff from the New Jersey Business Action Center and New Jersey Economic Development Authority.

The events are the latest in a series of programs the County has organized to support local businesses, including three previous workshops and a Small Business Resource Fair that was held in May at Rowan College at Burlington County.

Burlington County Bridge Commission Chairman Matt Riggins said the workshops and social event offer business owners opportunities to learn and make connections with other business leaders.

“Operating a successful business can be challenging, but in Burlington County, we’re taking steps to ensure new and existing business owners can access the information and guidance they need to be successful,” said Riggins. “These are great economic development tools, and the Bridge Commission is proud to partner with the Commissioners to make this kind of assistance available.”
