Burlington County Republican Committee sees sweeping primary election victories

MEDFORD – In New Jersey’s first primary election year under new “block style” voting, Burlington County Republican Committee-backed candidates saw huge victories.

Even without the much-talked-about “county line,” where preferred candidates are listed down ballot, the Burlington-backed nominees were able to win with a combination of grass roots, volunteers and fundraising.

“We headed into this election cycle with a high level of confidence, even with Democrat County Clerk Joanne Schwartz eliminating the Republican county line in defiance of a federal Judge’s order,” said Burlington County Republican Committee Chairman Sean Earlen.

“We know that our real advantage comes from the grassroot support we provide to local, state, and national candidates and through the funds we are able to raise for them so they can run an effective race,” Earlen continued.

The Chairman touted near-unanimous victories, where all but one backed candidate in the entire county went on to win their primaries.

“From national races like Curtis Bashaw for Senate, Teddy Liddell for Congressional District 1, and Rajesh Mohan for Congressional District 3 all the way down to our local heated races, our endorsed candidates came out on top and will move onto the General Election, where we will continue to fight like hell for them,” Earlen said. “It is more important now than ever to put up qualified candidates that will beat the Democrats in November.”

Aside from the high-profile competitions for US Senate and Congress, towns like Moorestown, Shamong and Tabernacle saw county-backed candidates sweep all of the available seats up for election this November.

“The illegal elimination of the Republican county line by entrenched and incompetent Democrats is not going to slow down the enormous effort we put forth for our endorsed candidates. We are ready to employ a big volunteer base and funding in order to run successful campaigns throughout the county,” said Burlington County Republican Committee Executive Director Ant Veneri.
