BURRELL CALLS FOR ACTION AND JUSTICE FOR THE LYNCHING OF GEORGE FLOYD

George Floyd was a brother, friend, companion and most importantly a person. On May 25, 2020, George’s life was prematurely taken from him by individuals who should be saving lives instead of taking them. The time for change is now and the people will wait no longer for justice. A demonstration is being held this Tuesday June 2nd, at 6:30 PM in Highland Park, NJ on Woodbridge Avenue starting from the Edison entrance to Highland Park all the way to the Raritan Bridge.

“The demonstration will be focused on ensuring that George Floyd and all people of color receive fair justice. We will have handout sheets and booklets on action steps that will force the hand of local and statewide officials to prosecute all officers involved in the demise of George Floyd. “We will travel down Woodbridge ave in cars with signs for George Floyd and all the brothers and sisters we lost to police brutality and vigilante type slayings. To respect the social distance regulations, participants will be able to put signs on their cars and posters out the windows.” said Ashton Burrell, organizer and national community activist.

The evening will conclude with community engagement and additional action steps that need to be taken to ensure that all citizens regardless of race, sex, or religious orientation are gifted with their dignity and humanity.
