Burzichelli, Simmons & Bailey Debut Podcast Focusing on Issues Impacting New Jersey

Glassboro – New Jersey State Senator John Burzichelli and Assembly Members Heather Simmons and Dave Bailey, Jr. (D-Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland) launched State House Minute, a podcast designed to keep residents updated about key issues facing New Jersey – and South Jersey in particular.
“With the disappearance of traditional media, especially local media, it’s getting increasingly difficult for people to access good information about state and local issues. This podcast will help bridge that gap and deliver information directly from us as legislators as we work on behalf of South Jersey in the State House,” says Senator Burzichelli.
“We want people to know what’s happening in real time and understand how legislative decisions shape South Jersey,” said Assemblywoman Simmons. “With State House Minute, listeners can hear what’s happening and how it impacts their families, businesses, and communities.”
“The podcast format is exciting for us because it allows us to have interesting and in-depth discussions about so many important subjects,” added Assemblyman Bailey. “We hope it provides residents with real insights about the issues that affect all of us in South Jersey.”
Each episode runs approximately four to five minutes in length and focuses on priority state issues, policies, and initiatives. Some of the topics discussed in the first several episodes include:
• Addressing the cost of electric bills
• Promoting education and awareness about menopause and ensuring coverage of related services
• Empowering residents of mobile and manufactured homes in the face of predatory real estate
investors
• Supporting small businesses when their operations are impeded by construction and
infrastructure projects
State House Minute can be viewed on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube (page name: ld3nj on all platforms). It can be listened to in audio-only form on Spotify and other streaming platforms. New episodes will be released regularly.
Senator Burzichelli, Assemblywoman Simmons, and Assemblyman Bailey encourage residents to reach out with any feedback they have, including subjects that they would like to see discussed on the podcast. They can be contacted at ld3nj.com or via email at ld3@njleg.org.
