Camden City Democrats Kick-Off Campaign for Biden, Democrats & School Board Candidates 

Camden, NJ – The Camden City Democratic Party kicked-off their campaign efforts for Joe Biden for President, the Column 2 Democrats, and the Education for Everyone Camden Board of Education candidates consisting of School Board President, Minister Wasim Muhammad, Karen Merricks, and Clayton Gonzalez.

Camden Mayor Frank Moran, who attended the event, said from Biden to the city school board election every vote counts this year.

“Were excited to do our part in making sure Donald Trump does not get elected second time while working to make sure the column 2 Democrats and the Education for Everyone School Board candidates are victorious,” Moran said. “Our candidates are dedicated to making more progress in Camden’s schools and making sure every child receives a good education.”

In an event with limited attendance due to COVID-19 precautionary measures, Camden County and city leaders as well as supporters came together to show support for the column 2 Democratic ticket as well as the Education for Everyone Board of education ticket.

Camden City Council President Curt Jenkins touched upon the fact that vote by mail ballots are already in resident’s hands.

“Because ballots are in the mail now it is important to show support for the candidates that will get the job done and work for our country and community,” said Jenkins. “Biden, the column 2 Democrats, and the Education for Everyone team will do that.”

The Education for Everyone team will continue to focus on providing quality instruction for every student and family in the city. The slate has committed itself to ensuring the graduation rate grows, increasing SAT scores and expanded educational opportunities and access to the children of Camden City. They have dedicated themselves to growing college acceptance rates and providing bright futures thousands of city children.

Councilman Angel Fuentes showed support for the candidates while emphasizing the importance of voters returning their vote by mail ballots as soon as possible stating.

“I am eager to have Wasim Muhammad back on the school board and look forward to voting for Karen Merricks, and Clayton Gonzalez” Fuentes continued. “Ballots should be returned as soon as possible by either using the postmarked envelop or by dropping it off at the designated, safe and secure drop off box located at the Administrative building on 600 Market Street in Camden.”

Sheriff Whip Wilson, a veteran, former Camden police officer and past state representative, talked about the positive impact the slate will make on the city.

“I am proud to stand with the Education for Everyone team for board of education”, says Camden County Sherriff Whip Wilson. “Minister Wasim Muhammad, Karen Merricks, and Clayton Gonzalez will put our students first and make sure Camden’s education  system continues to move in the right direction. Fill out your ballot for the column 2 Democrats and for the Education for Everyone school board candidates.”
