The Cape May – Cumberland counties Young Democrats started on September 29th , a virtual celebration with guest speakers and special guest. Congressional candidate Amy Kennedy attended and said a few words. Fatima Heyward, President of the New Jersey Young Young Democrats, said “It is a long time coming, congratulations to the CapeMay Cumberland Young Democrats this is definitely something we needed further down south jersey.” Cape May County Democratic chairman and Freeholder candidate Brendan Sciarra said “It’s great to have the young Dems with everybody involved. It’s so important we build up a army because that’s what it takes to win.” Cumberland County Freeholder Carol Musso also spoke stated “You’re the future so we need everyone to be involved to help us grow.”

The Cape May – Cumberland County Young Democrats plan is to mobilize young people and help them participate in the electoral process to elect Democrats, influence the ideas of the Democratic Party, advocate for progressive issues, and train the next generation of progressive leaders.

The Cape May – Cumberland Counties Young Democrats are a chartered unit of the Young Democrats of New Jersey under the Young Democrats of America and represent Democrats between the ages 16 to 40.
