Capital Health Center for Comprehensive Breast Care Partners with Bucks and Mercer County Businesses for Community Wide Awareness and Fundraiser Event.

PENNINGTON, NJ (September 24, 2019) – Capital Health’s 2019 Hope is in the Bag campaign will begin on October 4 and will end on October 19. This annual event features Hope Partners from Mercer County and Lower Bucks County. During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hope is in the Bag is a community-wide campaign focused on raising the needed awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer affecting one out of eight women.

All funds raised throughout this two-week campaign directly benefit services for women (and men) cared for at Capital Health’s Center for Comprehensive Breast Care. Areas of support services include and are not limited to healing arts, support groups, wigs, and transportation and medication costs.

“At the Capital Health Center for Comprehensive Breast Care, we know that cancer does not define the person we are treating,” said Dr. Lisa Allen, director of the Capital Health Center for Comprehensive Breast Care. “It is with that in mind that we built a Center that treats not just the disease, but the person as well.”

About Capital Health’s Center for Comprehensive Breast Care

Capital Health’s Center for Comprehensive Breast Care offers a complete range of personalized, breast care programs and services – from advanced diagnostics and genetic testing to leading-edge cancer care – all at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell. From cancer to cysts, abscesses, lesions, breast pain and other breast-related disorders, patients receive treatment from a multidisciplinary team that collaborates closely to develop a plan of care. Depending on the nature of the condition, a patient’s team could include a breast surgeon, radiologist, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, plastic surgeon, financial navigator, nutritionist, rehabilitation services, and more.

A personal breast health nurse navigator is by the patient’s side from an initial diagnosis through every phase of treatment, at no additional cost. The nurse navigator, a specially trained oncology nurse, is the central point of contact to guide patients, answer questions, help them better understand their diagnosis and treatment options, coordinate with their physicians, set up your health care services, and provide ongoing support through our Survivors Program and support groups.

The Center is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program of the American College of Surgeons, for achieving excellence in providing the highest quality cancer care. Call 609.537.6767 or visit capitalbreast.org to learn more.
