Cassidy Hutchinson, Key Witness at January 6th Hearings, to Speak on March 27 as Part of William Paterson University Distinguished Lecturer Series

Cassidy Hutchinson, former special assistant to President Donald Trump and his chief of staff , Mark Meadows, and a key witness at the January 6 hearings, will give a behind-the-scenes account of her involvement in those events during her appearance as part of the Distinguished Lecturer Series at William Paterson University in Wayne on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

The event, titled “An Evening with Cassidy Hutchinson,” begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus. Tickets for the lecture are $35, Gold Circle; $25 for rear orchestra/front loge; and $20 for rear loge. There is an additional $5 charge per ticket purchased at the box office on the evening of the lecture.

Hutchinson served as special assistant to President Donald Trump and his chief of staff, Mark Meadows. Her life took a dramatic turn on January 6, 2021, when, at age 24, she found herself in one of the most extraordinary and unprecedented events in modern political history. Hutchinson received national attention after serving as a key witness in the hearings led by the United States House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol in June 2022. Hutchinson detailed her story in her 2023 memoir, Enough (Simon & Schuster).

Originally from Pennington, NJ, Hutchinson is a 2019 graduate of Christopher Newport University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and American studies. She joined the White House Office of Legislative Affairs as an intern during her senior year, a position that became full-time following graduation. She previously interned for former House Republican Whip Steve Scalise and for Senator Ted Cruz.

William Paterson University’s Distinguished Lecturer Series is in its 42nd season of bringing leading personalities from the worlds of politics, government, the arts, literature, sports, science, and business, along with original programs, to the University’s campus in Wayne. In the four-decade history of the series, more than 175 public figures, including British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, journalist and activist Gloria Steinem, composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, actor and playwright Anna Deveare Smith, former New York Yankee and musician Bernie Williams, and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, have made presentations to 100,000 audience members.
