CCNJ Executive Director Dennis Hart’s Statement On Governor Murphy’s State of the State Address

CCNJ Executive Director Dennis Hart’s Statement On Governor Murphy’s State of the State Address.

TRENTON – (January 14, 2025) – “The Chemistry Council of New Jersey (CCNJ) applauds Governor Murphy for highlighting the strength and promise of our great state in the 2025 State of the State address. The Governor’s vision of a stronger, fairer economy aligns with our shared commitment to New Jersey’s growth and success.

As the largest manufacturing sector in New Jersey, the $15.48 billion chemical industry provides tens of thousands of high-paying jobs and drives innovation and investment in our communities. However, to truly unlock the next chapter of economic opportunity, we must collaborate on policies that support—not hinder—legacy and existing industrial businesses.

While new industries are important, preserving our state’s industrial backbone ensures stability and sustainability for our workforce and economy. Abrupt or one-sided policy changes risk driving away the very businesses and jobs that have made New Jersey an economic leader.

CCNJ stands ready to work alongside state leadership to craft balanced solutions that protect our environment, strengthen our communities, and foster investment. Together, we can ensure that New Jersey remains a beacon of opportunity and innovation for generations to come.”
