CD10 Democratic Candidate Flora Endorses Bernie Sanders

Former EPA Regional Administrator Alan J. Steinberg argues that after the latest Democratic debate, though Joe Biden remains a most significantly viable candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, his age is now a significant obstacle for him.

Both progressives share similar platforms and challenges

New Jersey District 10 Democratic primary candidate John J. Flora has announced his endorsement of Bernard Sanders as the Democratic Presidential Nominee. Flora has had a history of backing the senator, mirroring his progressive stance on issues like healthcare, climate change, immigration, education, and organized labor.

“I am a staunch supporter of Bernie and believe he is the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump and fix our country’s most pressing problems”, beamed Flora. “I’ve been a public supporter of the senator since 2015”, he continued. “I organized for him in Hudson County in the last cycle. When he didn’t receive the nomination, I attended the DNC protest in Philadelphia.”

Flora knows all too well the struggles that Sanders is facing with “politics as usual” and “party lines.” He is running in the June 2, 2020 Democratic primary against a PAC-addicted incumbent named Donald Payne, Jr., son of a career politician. Flora, a Jersey City music teacher and married father of two, has never sought public office before and prides himself in soliciting small donations. His motivation for running is to change the face of the nation into one that promotes higher standards of living for all through universal healthcare, housing reform, living wages, and making billionaires pay their fair share.

“Bernie is going to need a progressive Congress behind him to get anything accomplished,” said Flora. “I’d love nothing more than to be a part of that Congress. So much of why I stand in solidarity with him has to do with improving the future for our children – healthcare, climate change, and fair wages for teachers. I, like Bernie, have no shame in fighting for those things publicly. Making a country great again requires considering what’s best for every American. But first we’ll both have to defeat a Donald to realize these bold agendas.”
