CD12 GOP Candidate Razzoli: Like Thieves in the Night: Turnpike and Parkway Try Raising Tolls During Corona Crisis

Old Bridge, NJ – Mark Razzoli, Republican candidate for the House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District issued the following statement asking for all toll increases to be stopped immediately.

“The Corona Virus has dramatically impacted all of our lives. Due to the pandemic, the people of the 12th Congressional District are facing layoffs and economic hardships nobody saw coming,” said Razzoli. “By publicly considering a toll increase, the Turnpike Authority is showing that it does not care about its own residents who are experiencing layoffs and shuttering their businesses during this crisis.”

While all our attention is completely focused on major health and financial concerns, we have a government agency working to raise tolls – not any different than a thief stealing in the night. It is not acceptable to even consider this action at this moment,” said Razzoli.

Mark concluded, “As a retired police detective, part of my job was to help people in their time of need. New Jersey and residents of the 12th Congressional District need help now. Our small businesses, families and seniors are in need of significant support to stay safe and healthy. When this crisis is overcome, we can return to debate the need and timing of raising tolls on New Jersey residents.”
