CD5 Candidate Mike Ghassali Calls for Ban of Burning the American Flag

Montvale, NJ– Montvale Mayor and Congressional Candidate Mike Ghassali released the following statement calling for a federal ban on burning the American flag.

“Today I am calling for Congress once again to propose a ban on the burning of our great American flag and to create harsher penalties for those who choose to desecrate it. Our beautiful flag is a symbol of hope around the world, so many have given their lives for what it stands for and represents, and although I believe in everyone’s first amendment rights, I believe protecting our great flag and preventing the inciting and vile images of it being burned is a necessary action.” Stated Ghassali.
