Chatham Moms For Change Founder Jen McNally: Democratic Candidates Should Run a Clean Campaign
Democratic Candidates Should Run a Clean Campaign
Chatham, NJ — Jen McNally, a founder of Chatham Moms for Change, issued the following statement in response to a mailer sent by the Tamara Harris campaign today to residents of Chatham attacking Democrat Mikie Sherrill.
“I am deeply disturbed by the mailing I received today and the false and divisive attack that Ms. Harris has leveled against a fellow Democrat and a fellow female candidate. I founded Chatham Moms for Change as a group that values women who want to stand up and fight for our communities. If we want to bring real change to Washington then we must focus on the issues. This ad is wrong, and I believe Ms. Harris and all of our Democratic candidates should run a clean campaign focused on how they can improve the lives of our families.”
Ms. McNally is a founder of Chatham Moms for Change, a grassroots organization established in the lead up to the 2016 election. With nearly 800 members, Chatham Moms for Change seeks to promote engagement at all levels of government and encourage community involvement. The organization provides members a space to share information and ideas while inspiring and empowering each other to spearhead service projects, celebrate the diversity of our community, run for office, campaign for candidates, and speak up where we see injustice. An important part of this engagement is educating our members about all levels of the political system and our democracy.
