Chiaravalloti on Measure Aiming to Protect the Fairness & Accuracy of Legislative Redistricting

(TRENTON) – Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti (D-Hudson) issued the following statement in support of ACR-188, legislation which will help ensure accuracy and fairness during the state’s redistricting process and a greater representation of the New Jersey’s communities:

“Hudson County, because of its density in population and diversity, can be a hard-to-count area any year but it is especially difficult this year due to the limitations placed on families and Census workers as a result of COVID-19.

“New Jersey residents deserve to get as close as possible to a complete census count. We cannot afford to fall short on our response rates this time around. Extending the deadlines to align with Census data give us a chance to reach more residents.”
