Christopher’s Deli, Stanfield and Peters to hand out another 250 free meals to seniors

Anonymous Donor to Fund the Entire Meal Drive

MOUNT HOLLY – Christopher’s Deli & Catering announced it will be giving out another 250 free
meals to local seniors after a successful meal drive in April and a lot of help from a generous
private citizen.

The Mount Holly deli is partnering with the 8th Legislative District Office of Assemblywoman
Jean Stanfield and Assemblyman Ryan Peters to perform outreach, sign seniors up and hand
out the meals.

The group, which gave out 250 free meals on April 15, was approached by a local resident who
wanted to fund another meal drive but wishes to remain anonymous.

“When I got the call from one of our residents that they wanted to fully fund another meal drive,
it was the best news I’ve heard in awhile,” Stanfield said. “I immediately called the amazing
owners of Christopher’s Deli, and they couldn’t have said yes faster. I can’t express how excited
I am to be doing this again”

“We’re completely stunned at how amazing our community continues to be. We never dreamed
of holding a second meal drive, but we’re extremely excited it’s happening because of the
generosity of someone who is asking for no credit,” said owners Chris Yiallourides and Ted
Kanakaris.

The meal will be a roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes, string beans, brown gravy on the
side and a dinner roll with butter and will be available for pickup between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13. Stanfield and Peters will be on hand with masks and gloves to place
the meals in seniors’ trunks. Those aged 60 and older are eligible for a free meal.

The Mount Holly Police Department will once again be helping out in a huge way. Officers will
be on hand to direct seniors to the pickup location and make sure meals are dropped off in
trunks in a safe manner. They will also have a sign that tells seniors to “Stay In Your Cars.”

“During the first meal drive, the meals were delicious, Christopher’s Deli was spot on with how it
had everything prepared, and the Mount Holly Police Department made the process incredibly
smooth. We’re ready to get this well-oiled machine running again to provide another 250 free
meals to seniors in need,” Peters said.

Meals will be handed out in the Mount Holly Police Department complex parking lot on Park
Drive. Residents should turn off of Rancocas Road onto Park Drive and follow signs to the lot.

They will then be directed to exit on Washington Street.

To sign up to pick up a meal, please visit https://volunteersignup.org/ME98K. Pickup will take
place in 15-minute windows. Residents should stick to their time slot so pickup goes smoothly.

Cars will be allowed up to two meals each. Please sign up twice if you’re picking up two meals.
Cars should pull up, roll down their window and state their name so they can be marked off the
list. Someone will then place the meal in your trunk.

Pickup is the preferred method of distributing the meals. If you cannot pick up the meal, you can
have a family member pick it up for you. If you absolutely cannot pick up your meal, there are
spots reserved for curbside delivery. Sign up for delivery and someone from Stanfield and
Peters’ 8th District office will call you to schedule a dropoff time and location. Please reserve the
delivery method for those who need it.
