CIANJ TO HONOR FOUR LEGISLATORS & INDUCT TWO FORMER SENATORS INTO LEGISLATIVE HALL OF FAME AT THEIR 94TH ANNUAL LUNCHEON & MEETING

KEYNOTE ADDRESS TO BE DELIVERED BY JERSEY MIKE’S SUBS FOUNDER & CEO PETER CANCRO

East Rutherford, NJ (October 29, 2021) – The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) will honor four members of the state’s legislature as well as induct two former senators into their inaugural Legislative Hall of Fame at their 94th Annual Luncheon on Friday, October 29.

CIANJ will honor Assemblyman Roy Freiman, Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz, Senator Steve Oroho and Senator Paul Sarlo with the Champion of Business & Economic Growth Legislative Award during a ceremony at the organization’s annual luncheon at the Hilton Meadowlands.

“The honorees were chosen because of their legislative record of promoting the interests of New Jersey’s business community as well as sponsoring legislation that fosters economic growth statewide,” said Anthony Russo, President, CIANJ.

CIANJ will also induct the first two members into their new Legislative Hall of Fame — the late Senator Anthony Bucco, Sr. and former Senator Bob Gordon, who is currently a commissioner of the NJ Board of Public Utilities as well as a member of the NJ Transit Board of Directors.

CIANJ’s 94th Annual Meeting & Luncheon will be a celebration of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey’s more than nine decades as the voice of New Jersey’s business community. The luncheon is also a forum for business leaders to gain insights and share industry trends while making valuable contacts for the future.

This year’s keynote speaker is Peter Cancro, the founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Subs, a business that began in the Garden State and is now located in 48 states across the country as well as the District of Columbia.

CIANJ will also be supporting a non-profit that is near and dear to Cancro’s heart – Interfaith Neighbors based in Asbury Park. The group focuses on assisting the most vulnerable to help them improve the quality of life for these individuals, their families and their communities.
