CIANJ PRESIDENT ANTHONY RUSSO PARTICIPATES IN PANEL DISCUSSION ON POST-COVID SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES AT TAIWAN TRADE MEETING IN NYC

NEW YORK, NY (September 13, 2022) – Anthony Russo, President of The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) participated in a panel discussion on supply chain issues post-COVID. He also discussed how New Jersey businesses are dealing with these supply chain issues, as well as how companies can work with our trade partners in Taipei.  The well-attended event was held this morning, September 13, 2022 in the auditorium at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York.

“New Jersey’s manufacturing and distribution companies rely heavily on the global supply chain for products, components, and raw materials,” said CIANJ’s Anthony Russo. “Our strategic business relationship with Taiwan plays an important role in developing a more resilient supply chain in America,” he said. Mr. Russo also recognized the close relationship CIANJ maintains with the New Jersey Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, who were also represented at the meeting.

Panelists shared how global crises, such as COVID-19 and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, have impacted global supply chains, thus underscoring the importance of supply chain resilience for economies around the world. Given Taiwan’s key role in many industries, supply chain security is becoming an increasingly central feature of U.S.-Taiwan policy coordination.

Rita Chen, Deputy Director-General, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, host for the event offered opening comments. Prior to the panel discussion, the program began with a keynote talk with Deputy Minister Chern-Chyi “C.C.” Chen, Ministry of Economic Affairs for Taiwan.

In addition to CIANJ’s Anthony Russo distinguished panelists included Peter Fusaro, Founder, Wall Street Green Summit, Peter Chow, Professor, City University of New York, and Rorry Daniels, Managing Director, Asia Society.

CIANJ is a statewide business advocacy organization, representing more than 900 corporate members from every industry sector.
