CIANJ Statement in Opposition to Proposed $15 Minimum Wage Bill

Statement from CIANJ President Anthony Russo in opposition to the proposed $15 minimum wage bill:

Today, Gov. Murphy once again called on legislative leaders to raise New Jersey’s minimum wage to $15 an hour. The legislature should first take a hard look at why New Jersey has one of the highest costs of living in the nation before proceeding with this legislation. With only three weeks left in the legislative calendar year, Trenton should not rush yet another complicated piece of legislation during one of the busiest times of the year. The impact of raising the minimum wage for small businesses could be devastating and will have a chilling effect on economic growth.
