CIANJ Supports the Proposed North Bergen Liberty Generating Facility

Paramus, NJ (April 25, 2018) – Statement from Anthony Russo, president of the Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey on the North Bergen Liberty Generating Facility:

“The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey is a strong voice for the expansion and improvement of businesses throughout the region.

Our members support investment in large-scale regional infrastructure projects.  The North Bergen Liberty Generating facility is noteworthy as it ensures that the New York Metro area will have access to resilient, affordable electricity for decades.  The hundreds of millions of dollars invested in the construction of the facility will have a multiplier effect on the direct and indirect businesses associated with the project.  And the fact that wind and solar projects cannot cost effectively generate as much potential electricity as new, efficient natural gas-fired plants make the NBLG facility a necessity to keep our regional economy moving forward.

CIANJ fully supports the proposed NBLG electric plant.”
