Drive-Up and Walk-Up testing options by appointment only for residents

Newark, NJ-May 5, 2020—The City of Newark will be offering COVID-19 testing to Newark residents by appointment starting on WednesdayMay 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Branch Brook Park Roller Skating Rink, located at 7th and Clifton AvenuesResidents should enter through the Park Avenue entrance.

 

Media Note: Mayor Ras J. Baraka will be available for interviews from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

 

The site will have drive-up and walk-up options and testing will be done by appointment only. Residents have to clear CDC requirements for testing during registration process. To schedule an appointment, residents should call: 973-988-5511.

 

Residents scheduled for testing must wear a face covering, gloves, bring a valid ID, show proof of Newark residency (driver’s license, utility or phone bill), and have an insurance card with them. All insurances will be accepted, including Medicaid and Medicare.

 

These efforts are part of Mayor Baraka’s comprehensive strategy for widespread testing and contact tracing.
