CITY OF PATERSON CELEBRATES 2024 ART WEEK WITH EXCITING LINEUP OF FREE EVENTS
Paterson, NJ – Today, July 30, 2024, Mayor Andre Sayegh, the Paterson City Council, and the Paterson Art Exchange (PAX) are thrilled to announce the highly anticipated 2024 Art Week, a week-long celebration of the arts, culture, and community. Scheduled from August 1st to August 7th, 2024, this vibrant event will feature various free activities and performances that welcome all community members to participate and enjoy.
Event Schedule:
Day 1: Music Concert
Date: Thursday, August 1st, 2024 Time: 5 PM Location: Lou Costello Park
Kick-off Art Week with an exhilarating music concert featuring cohost “Griff” from Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell. The event is hosted by Commissioner Roz Thompson.
Day 2: Culinary Arts + Wellness
Date: Friday, August 2nd, 2024 Time: 5 PM Location: Lou Costello Park
Join Commissioner Deniz Vergara for a day dedicated to culinary arts and wellness. Activities include making herb bouquets, wellness presentations, skittle painting, DIY trail mix jars, aerialist performances, food truck feasts, and cookie decorating.
Day 3: Theater & Movie Night
Date: Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 Time: 3 PM Location: Lou Costello Park
Bring your family for a fun-filled movie night at the park. Enjoy activities like set design stations, puppet shows, drum instruction, and a double Dutch jump competition. The event is hosted by Commissioners Denise Womack and Erica Plaza.
Day 4: Education, Art & Culture
Date: Sunday, August 4th, 2024 Time: 4 PM – 7:30 PM Location: Lou Costello Park
Hosted by Commissioner Anna Martinez and the P.E.A.C.E Society Art Community, this day features networking, creative vendors, resource service vendors, community outreach, interactive activities, and visual art displays.
Day 5: Poetry & Monologues Slam
Date: Monday, August 5th, 2024 Time: 5 PM Location: Lou Costello Park
Experience a powerful evening of poetry and monologues hosted by Poet Laureate Talena Lachelle Queen and Commissioner Jaquair Gillette.
Day 6: Paints and Crafts for National Night Out
Date: Tuesday, August 6th, 2024 Time: 5 PM Location: Lou Costello Park
Celebrate National Night Out with a community-focused evening full of paint and craft activities for all ages, hosted by PAX Commissioners.
Day 7: Social Media Day
Date: Wednesday, August 7th, 2024.
