City of Trenton Preparing for Winter Storm 
 Heavy Rainfall and Strong Winds Expected 

Trenton, N.J. – The City of Trenton is expected to experience a high volume of rain and wind gusts starting this afternoon into tomorrow morning. Forecasters from the National Weather Service have issued a series of high wind warnings, wind advisories, coastal flood warnings, and a flood watch.

The worst of the storm is projected to take place between 9 p.m. Tuesday night and 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. Between this time, City residents may experience one to three inches of rain and 40-60 mph winds. As a result, residents may encounter fallen trees, downed power lines, and moderate flooding.

In response to the inclement weather, the City of Trenton has implemented several precautionary measures to keep its residents safe:

DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH ANY BODIES OF WATER

DO NOT MOVE, DRIVE AROUND, AND/OR ALTER ANY BARRICADES OR FLOOD WARNING SIGNS.

All afterschool activities scheduled for Tuesday evening have been canceled in the City of Trenton.

The City of Trenton will be providing shelter at the Sam Naples Senior Center (located at 611 Chestnut Avenue) throughout the State of Emergency. Additional sheltering will be announced if necessary.

If residents encounter an emergency or a fallen tree, call 9-1-1 and they will direct the call to the proper department.
