ANNOUNCES QUALITY OF LIFE OPERATION

TO ADDRESS ONGOING FIREWORKS ISSUES

 

PATERSON, NJ – Today, Mayor Andre Sayegh alongside Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale, Paterson Police Chief Michael Baycora, and Paterson Fire Chief Brian McDermott announced plans for a Quality of Life operation.

 

The City of Paterson Police Department has received a number of calls regarding complaints of excessive noise and fireworks. In a continued effort to improve the quality of life in the City of Paterson the police department will be conducting a special operation targeting the use of illegal fireworks within the city.

 

“Fireworks and loud music have become a citywide issue and an ongoing nuisance to residents. Implementing the quality of life operation will address the complaints of disruptions that fireworks are causing to residents,” said Mayor Andre Sayegh.

 

Paterson Police will enforce the NJ state statute and city ordinance regarding fireworks and noises summonses.

 

The quality of life operation is set to run through the 4th of July holiday weekend.
