CITY OF PATERSON MAYOR ANDRE SAYEGH ANNOUNCES UEZ STREET SALE PERMITS

Mayor Andre Sayegh today announced that the City of Paterson will now offer permits for retail businesses to have sidewalk sales. As the state begins to allow more businesses to open indoors, Mayor Sayegh continues to take precautionary measures to decrease the risk of COVID spreading. Implementation of a commercial street sale permit will allow businesses to have sidewalk sales and further allow space for social distancing.

“One of the most difficult decisions that had to be made early on was to close down non-essential businesses, said Mayor Andre Sayegh. “We are introducing the street sale permit so businesses may have the opportunity to safely re-open in a way that is conducive for social distancing.”

The city’s Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ), a state funded program helping to decrease unemployment within urban cities, has created a blanket permit for businesses within the City of Paterson to allow sidewalk sales.
