CITY OF PATERSON MAYOR ANDRE SAYEGH AND PASSAIC COUNTY FREEHOLDER JOHN BARTLETT PUSH FOR THE CENSUS COMPLETE COUNT

CITY OF PATERSON MAYOR ANDRE SAYEGH AND

PASSAIC COUNTY FREEHOLDER JOHN BARTLETT

PUSH FOR THE CENSUS COMPLETE COUNT

PATERSON – Mayor Andre Sayegh together with Freeholder John Bartlett and members of the City Council today discussed the importance of the Census as they work together to ensure complete and accurate count.

The Trump administration has made the decision to end the 2020 Census count earlier than expected, this decision directly impacts the City of Paterson and the County of Passaic in the hard-to-reach and undercounted immigrant communities.

“Patersonians need to be counted and right now we have a low response rate. The COVID pandemic has made it increasingly difficult to get the word out on the importance of the Census but we are not stopping our efforts, said Mayor Andre Sayegh. “We now only have seven weeks left to get a complete count but we will work harder to make sure that everyone is counted because Paterson Counts.”

Census enumerators will begin going to areas with a low response rate to encourage residents to fill out their Census.
