TRENTON – A message from New Jersey Civil Service Commission Chair/CEO Deirdré Webster Cobb, Esq.:

On behalf of the New Jersey Civil Service Commission, I would like to wish all women a happy Women’s Equality Day. Today, we commemorate the certification of the 19th Amendment and remember the sacrifices women, past and present, have made to get us where we are today.

It is up to us to use what we have learned from the past to inspire the future and realize ordinary equality for all people.

At the New Jersey Civil Service Commission, our mission is to advance NJ government with fair and efficient human resources responsive to the needs of the civil service workforce. In pursuing that mission, women, as well as many other protected classes, have been in the forefront of our efforts. During my tenure as the Chair/CEO of this agency, my team and I have been committed to implementing diversity and equal employment opportunity initiatives to ensure that all employees in the civil service workforce feel safe, welcomed, and heard.

Let us continue to take strides towards a more equal workforce, state, country, and world for our daughters, mothers, sisters, and friends.

Thank you.
