Before Governor Murphy’s address at Rowan University, local activists and members of the EMPOWER NJ coalition will call on the governor to enact an emergency moratorium on all new fossil fuel projects.

The activists will highlight the plans to build a massive liquified natural gas export facility in Gibbstown, just 15 miles from the Rowan campus.

WHO: Local environmentalists and climate activists from the EMPOWER NJ coalition

WHAT: Rally for Fossil Fuel Moratorium

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 22 : 6:00 PM

WHERE: Rowan University: Chamberlain Student Center, Eynon Ballroom

201 Mullica Hill Road – Glassboro, NJ 08028

BACKGROUND: The proposed Gibbstown Logistics Center fracked gas export terminal  is one of the newest fossil fuel projects moving forward in the state. If built, it would threaten the health & safety of communities throughout South Jersey, and drive more fracking in Pennsylvania.
