CMC DEMS ZOOM ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING

CMC DEMS ZOOM ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. FEB. 5, 2024

Cape May County Democrats are presenting our latest installment on the Zoom issues series at 7 p.m. Feb. 5, 2024. We are focusing on the increasingly desperate housing situation in our county. We all know that longtime residents are being squeezed out by the real estate boom and little is being done to help them.

Please go to www.cmcdems.com to register.

Our primary presenter is Jacqueline Jones, Executive Director of Vineland Housing Authority (https://www.vha.org). Through a Shared Services agreement, Jones serves in the same capacity with the Bridgeton Housing Authority, Ocean City Housing Authority, and the Cape May City Housing Authority. Jones will bring her 40 years of experience and involvement in public housing throughout the state to our Zoom.

She will be joined by Yvonne Sullivan, Executive Director of Family Promise CMC  (https://familypromisecmc.org). Established in 2009, this non-profit helps families experiencing homelessness. Their shelter program only accepts families with children, an overlooked group in our community.

Additionally, Stephen Sweeney, former NJ State Senate President will offer comments.

While in the state senate, Sweeney was instrumental in passing legislation that benefited special needs citizens throughout New Jersey including affordable and accessible housing.

Again, please register at www.cmcdems.com

The cutoff date for registration is Feb. 4 – a day before the presentation.
