Collection Drive Organized for Surviving Daughters of Home Collapse Tragedy
Hamilton Township Mayor Kelly Yaede is joining with Saint Phillips Baptist Church and the John O. Wilson Neighborhood Service Center to announce a collection drive to benefit the two surviving daughters of the recent home collapse tragedy.
Following yesterday’s tragic home collapse on South Broad Street in Hamilton, where 38 year-old resident Tika Justice perished, her two surviving daughters (ages 16 and 20) are in need of basic items, such as clothing.
To help the two surviving daughters, Mayor Kelly Yaede contacted Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Woods – the pastor of nearby St. Phillips Baptist Church – and Angelo Hall – the Executive Director of the John O. Wilson Neighborhood Service Center to discuss a collaborative effort to assist.
As a result, beginning on Thursday, July 26, 2018, and continuing through Saturday, August 4, 2018, residents will be able to bring clothing donations to either St. Phillips Baptist Church (located at 445 Parkinson Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08610) and John O. Wilson Neighborhood Service Center (located at 169 Wilfred Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08610). The collection schedule will take place as follows:

“In addition to our compassion and prayers during this very difficult time, these two young daughters of our community are also in need of our town’s generosity,” says Mayor Kelly Yaede. “I want to thank Pastor Woods and the entire congregation of St. Phillips Baptist Church, as well as Angelo Hall and the Wilson Center family, for partnering in this collective drive.”
“When one person in our community hurts it impacts us all. It is an honor for our church to partner with our Mayor, the Hamilton community and the Wilson Center to bring hope to these two young ladies amid this tragedy. This family needs our generosity and we are humbled to coordinate the response efforts to give them support,” says Pastor Woods.
“The John O. Wilson Center is always available to serve those in need and we are privileged to join Mayor Yaede, Pastor Woods, and Saint Phillips in responding to this family during their time of need’” says Angelo Hall.
