Commemorating Women’s History Month, Gottheimer Highlights Women-Owned Businesses

GLEN ROCK, NJ – Tuesday, March 29, 2019, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited Merve’s Kitchen and Bakery in Glen Rock to talk about women in business and grab a cup of coffee.

“We should always be encouraging women to become entrepreneurs and supporting women-owned businesses. Especially during Women’s History Month, I am glad I get to highlight one of our many great businesses in the Fifth District,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Merve does a great job creating an inviting atmosphere in Glen Rock and bakes some of the best cakes around. Small businesses like hers drive our economy and I appreciate the hard work she does in our community.”

Merve had worked in marketing and the food industry around the world for years before settling in at Merve’s Kitchen and Bakery’s Glen Rock storefront in 2016, where she specializes in baked goods like pies, cookies, and themed cakes.
