Congressional Hispanic Caucus Elects Rep. Rob Menendez to be Vice Chair of Policy for the 119th Congress

JERSEY CITY, NJ—Today, Rep. Rob Menendez announced that he was elected unanimously by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) to serve on the CHC’s leadership team as the Vice Chair of Policy in the 119th Congress. The CHC’s Vice Chair of Policy is responsible for developing a legislative agenda, helping pass CHC-supported bills, and convening policy roundtables that bring together stakeholders from across the country.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to join CHC’s leadership team and to expand my service to our Latino communities here in the nation’s capital,” said Rep. Rob Menendez. “As our Latino constituencies continue to grow and diversify, it is more vital than ever that we unite around strong policy solutions that uplift all those who we have the honor of representing. As the Vice Chair of Policy, I will work to ensure that the CHC develops and advances a legislative agenda that not only addresses the needs of our communities, but also upholds our nation’s core values.”

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) was founded in 1976 to address national and international issues that impact the Latino community. In the 119th Congress, CHC’s leadership team will consist of:

  1. Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) as Chairman;
  2. Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09) as Deputy Chair;
  3. Rep. Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) as Whip;
  4. Rep. Rob Menendez (NJ-08) as Vice Chair of Policy;
  5. Rep. Joaquin Castro (TX-20) as Vice Chair of Diversity and Inclusion; and
  6. Rep. Norma Torres (CA-35) as Vice Chair of Communications.
