Congressman Andy Kim Announces Endorsement from

Jersey City Council President Joyce Watterman for U.S. Senate

MOORESTOWN N.J.  Today, Congressman Andy Kim has announced the endorsement of Jersey City Council President Joyce Watterman to become the next U.S. Senator from New Jersey. First elected to the City Council in 2013, Watterman has proven to be an instrumental figure during her tenure, using her lifetime of experience living in Jersey City to deliver for her constituents.

“I’m so excited to bring Congressman Kim to Jersey City and Hudson County,” said Watterman. “I am tired of people dictating to us who we are going to vote for. It’s time that we tell everyone else who we want in office.”

“Joyce Watterman knows what it means to serve her community, and I’m proud to have her endorsement for our grassroots campaign to restore integrity and put the needs of working families first,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “She knows what Jersey City needs, and has spent her time on City Council fighting to improve the lives of those who call Jersey City home. I look forward to working together, meeting with more residents, and hearing about the issues Jersey City cares about so I can be prepared to deliver for them starting on day one in Washington.”

Congressman Andy Kim is a three-term Member of Congress first elected in 2018 and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. In 2018 and 2020, Andy defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, and in 2022 Kim defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points.

In his three terms in Congress, Andy has worked hard to lower costs for New Jersey families and help support small businesses through challenging times. Andy has also been a leading champion in fighting against corruption in our broken politics.
