Congressman Andy Kim to Cancel In-Person Town Hall, Hold Tele-Town Hall in Response to Coronavirus

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced that the previously scheduled in-person town hall to be held in Seaside Park this Friday, will be cancelled due to the declared state of emergency in response to the Coronavirus outbreak. In its place, the Congressman and health officials will hold a telephone town hall to provide an update and answer questions on the Coronavirus outbreak.

Sign up information for the Congressman’s tele-town hall will be made available on his website: kim.house.gov

“The health and safety of our neighbors across Ocean and Burlington Counties is the most important thing. I’ve chosen to follow guidance by our health care professionals and move our town hall to a format that doesn’t put people at risk,” said Congressman Kim. “Our focus on this town hall will be the Coronavirus outbreak. Every day, my office is getting questions on how best to prepare and what this could mean for New Jersey. I look forward to continuing that conversation on our tele-town hall to make sure everyone has the information they need to stay safe.”

This will be the eighteenth town hall held by Congressman Kim during the 116th Congress, and part of a monthly series to allow the Congressman to hear directly from constituents throughout New Jersey’s Third District. The Congressman, focused on issues impacting the lives of people in Burlington and Ocean Counties, will provide an update on the Coronavirus outbreak, efforts to lower prescription drug costs, address the opioid epidemic and support New Jersey’s veterans.
