Congressman Kim to Hold Telephone Town Hall on Health Care Coverage, Coronavirus

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced that he will be holding a telephone town hall on Wednesday, December 9th at 6:00pm to discuss how constituents can sign up for Get Covered NJ, and to provide an update on the ongoing coronavirus crisis. This is the Congressman’s 28th town hall since he was sworn into office in January 2019.

Residents of Burlington and Ocean Counties can sign up for the telephone town hall on the Congressman’s website by clicking here.

Congressman Kim will be joined by representatives from the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance (DOBI), Center for Family Services, Fulfill New Jersey, and New Jersey Citizen Action. These representatives will provide updates and answer questions on how New Jersey residents can sign up and receive subsidies through the new state-based health care exchange.

“Having quality health care that’s affordable is important, especially during this public health crisis,” said Congressman Kim. “This town hall is a great opportunity for those with questions about the new state exchange to get them answered so they can find a health care plan that works for them.”

Last year, Congressman Kim passed the bipartisan SAVE Act, which would strengthen the Affordable Care Act by helping states like New Jersey establish their state-based exchanges.

Congressman Kim is a member of the bipartisan House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis, where he serves as one of twelve members of the House tasked with conducting oversight over programs aimed at ending the Coronavirus pandemic and helping address the economic impact it’s having on the American people. Congressman Kim is also a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Small Business. More information about Congressman Kim can be found on his website by clicking here.
