Congressman Kim to Hold Town Hall on Service and Volunteerism

MOORESTOWN, NJ – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced that he will be holding a town hall on Wednesday, January 19th at 5:00 p.m. to discuss service and volunteerism, and why they’re so vital to bringing our country together.

Residents of Burlington and Ocean Counties can sign up for the telephone town hall on the Congressman’s website by clicking here.

“As we come up on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I think about Dr. King’s words where he encourages us to seek freedom, but not by ‘drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.’ Those words and Dr. King’s actions of service are my inspiration for this town hall about volunteerism and my foundation when I think about how service to one another is a very tangible way we can begin to heal this country,” said Congressman Kim. “Service can come in many forms, from volunteerism, to helping in a community garden, these simple acts can bridge divides and bring people together. I look forward to speaking with my community about a topic I’m finding more and more important as we see such political division across this country.”

Joining Congressman Kim will be Michael Pippin, Director of the Volunteer Center of Burlington County, and Rowena Madden, Executive Director of the New Jersey Office of Volunteerism, at the New Jersey Department of State.
